Update (7:26 PM) - I've ended up just going the value route for the PHI/DEN game as I just don't want to spend up for both Simmons/Jokic in what could be a blowout in Denver. Image is updated! Good Luck!
DFS – Fantasy Basketball – NBA FanDuel Initial Lineup – 1/26/19
It’s never a good thing when your 2nd most expensive player (D’Angelo Russell) is your low-score player of the night, however, we got solid performances from the rest of our team and our 308.50 point-performance had us cashing in both our GPP’s & 50/50’s.
We have an exciting 4-game NBA Slate tonight that starts at 8:00 pm and let’s check out our initial lineup for tonight.
We’re spending up at the PG position today as we’re going with Boston’s Kyrie Irving and Philadelphia’s Ben Simmons.
Irving has really started to play well as of late and over his last 4 games, Irving is averaging 30.8 ppg, 4.5 rpg, 11.0 apg, & 2.5 spg. Irving should be well-rested for the Celtics big match-up for the Warriors tonight and as he got the night off in the Celtics last game against Cleveland on Wednesday and between the fact that the Celtics will need his scoring and that he is shooting 60.3% of his last 4 games, I love Irving tonight.
Philadelphia is going to be short-handed tonight as Joel Embiid has already been ruled out for rest purposes and Jimmy Butler is currently questionable due to his wrist injury. This leaves Ben Simmons needing to pretty much do everything for the 76ers tonight if they want to steal a win at Denver. Simmons comes into this game averaging 16.6 ppg, 9.5 rpg, 8.3 apg & 1.3 spg on the season and if he can get some shots to fall tonight, I think we’ll see a triple-double from Simmons if the 76ers can keep the game close.
Jamal Murray had to leave last night’s game due to an ankle injury and I’ll be surprised if he is going to be able to go tonight. If Murray is out, this should open up some minutes for Monte Morris who has shown earlier this season that he can produce. Morris put up a 22.1 FanDuel point performance last night in 25 minutes as I think he will see another 25-30 minutes if Murray is out, he has some of the best value on the slate as he is currently at the min price of $3,500.
Kevin Huerter has missed his last two games with a neck injury, however, if he is able to come back tonight, I don’t mind putting him right back into my lineup. In his five games prior to his injury, Huerter was averaging 17.8 ppg, 4.4 rpg, & 4.0 apg in an incredible 36.6 mpg. Bazemore is still out for the Hawks and although Prince is back, I think Hueter will still see 30+ minutes tonight if he is able to go, I’m a fan of Huerter tonight.
As I mentioned yesterday, I think Will Barton has just too much upside right now with his price set at just $5,200. Barton is averaging 18.0 ppg, 7.0 rpg, 5.0 apg, and 1.0 bpg in his last two games and although we’ll just want to make sure they don’t limit his minutes on a 2nd half of a back-to-back, I’m putting Barton right back into the lineup tonight.
We’re going to have a bunch of value with the 76ers tonight with Embiid & Chandler already out while Butler looking doubtful, so to save some salary we’re going to put both Corey Brewer & Jonah Bolden in the lineup tonight.
I’m going with the Celtics Jayson Tatum as similar to Irving, if the Celtics are going to be able to pull off a win agianst the Warriors, they’ll need their stars to bring their “A” game tonight. Tatum is averaging 16.3 ppg, 6.2 rpg, 1.8 apg, and 1.0 spg on the season however, Tatum has shown the ability to go off for big games as he recently put up a 56.5 FanDuel point performance agianst Brooklyn in mid-January.
With the 76ers short-handed, Nikola Jokic could be in line for a monster game as there is no one in the Philadelphia front-court that will be able to handle the Joker. Jokic has been unstoppable as of late as over his last 5 games he is averaging 20.5 ppg, 11.0 rpg, 9.3 apg, & 1.0 spg and I think he’ll be able to put up another triple-double tonight.
Check back later for updates.
