UPDATE (6:24 PM) - Hi Everyone! Made some changes to the lineup! Image is updated! Good Luck!
DFS – Fantasy Basketball – NBA FanDuel Initial Lineup – 1/28/19
We have a 5-game NBA Slate tonight that starts at 7:00pm!
Let’s check out who we have going in our initial FanDuel lineup.
We’re going to be starting off with some value at the PG position tonight and go with New York’s Trey Burke. Burke should be in line for a bunch of minutes tonight as Emmanuel Mudiay is currently out with a shoulder injury and Frank Ntilikina is currently a GTD due to a groin injury, however, looks like he isn’t going to be available tonight. Burke comes into this game averaging 11.7 ppg, 2.8 apg, & 1.9 rpg, however, does have some solid upside as he has shown in the past that he can put up some impressive offensive numbers. Burke has shot the ball 35 times in a combined 36 minutes over his last two games and as I expect him to see 30+ minutes tonight, he has too much value to pass up on tonight.
At the other PG position, we’re going to continue to go with the Clippers Patrick Beverley who over his last 5 games, is averaging 11.2 ppg, 8.6 rpg, 4.6 apg, & 1.4 spg in an incredible 36.8 mpg. Beverley has one of the better match-ups of the night as he is facing an Atlanta Hawks team that rank just 26th defending opposing PG’s. Beverley has put up 34.3+ FanDuel point performances in 3 of his last 5 games and as this should be a high-scoring game tonight, I have no problem playing a sub-$5,000 price for Beverley.
I’m staying with the Clippers and going to roster Lou Williams in our first SG spot. I’m going to monitor the status of Danilo Gallinari as I’ll probably go a different direction than Lou Williams if Gallinari is a go, however, if he is now, you have to love Williams in this spot against the Hawks who rank 30th vs. opposing SG’s. Williams doesn’t’ generally see 30+ minutes, however, that has stopped Williams in having another productive year as he is currently averaging 18.6 ppg, 5.2 apg, & 3.0 rpg. Williams is averaging 17.8 ppg, 7.5 apg, 5.5 rpg & 1.0 spg and recently should his tremendous upside recently after posting a triple-double (31 pts, 10 reb, 10 ast) against the Bulls last Friday.
I’m going to use my “low-scoring” option right now on the Knicks Damyean Dotson as I think he has some decent upside tonight as the Knicks backcourt is a bit thin do to the injuries to Mudiay & Ntilikina. Dotson saw 26 minutes of action last night against the Heat and had a productive game as he finished his night with 14 points, 4 assists, 1 rebound, 1 block, & 2 steals. Dotson has flashed 30+ FanDuel point potential this season when given the minutes as I think he could see another 25-30 minutes, tonight, I don’t think he is a bat “punt” play.
I promise, I didn’t just take the Knicks & Clippers players, who I’m going to continue that trend with our first SF spot and go with the Clippers Tobias Harris. Harris is having an outstanding season with the Clippers and comes into this great match-up against the Hawks averaging 21.1 ppg, 7.9 rpg, & 2.5 apg. Harris is the clear-cut top offensive option of the Clippers, especially if Gallinari is out again tonight, and should be in for a good night against a Hawks team that ranks just 28th vs. opposing SF’s. Harris put up a 41.1 FanDuel point performance against the Hawks earlier this season and I think he could do even better tonight.
We’re paying up Kevin Durant at our other SF spot as I like the fact that his price-tag still sits below the $10,000 mark and that I just don’t really love the “value” options at SF today. Durant is averaging 27.9 ppg, 7.3 rpg, 5.9 apg & 1.2 bpg and has posted 40+ FanDuel points in each of his last 7 games. Indiana has been a tough match-up for SF’s this season, however, with Oladipo out, the Pacers aren’t as strong defensively and I think Durant can continue his recent string of solid play and get us 50+ FanDuel points tonight.
I’m staying with the Warriors and going to get Draymond Green in the lineup tonight. Green continues to put up solid DFS lines despite his lack of scoring as he is avenging 38.0 FanDuel points over his last 5 games, which included a 50.2 FanDuel point performance against the Pelicans in mid-January. Green is averaging 8.2 ppg, 8.6 rpg, 9.0 apg, & 1.8 spg over his last 5 games and although it’s a tough match-up against the Pacers, I think Green will once again be able to put together a solid all-around stat line tonight and hit at least 5x value.
John Collins continues to show everyone that he is one of the better up and coming players in the NBA this season as the 2nd year man out of Wake Forest comes into this game averaging 19.4 ppg, 10.2 rpg, & 2.3 apg. Collins has been outstanding as of late as over his last 5 games, he is averaging 22.2 ppg on an incredible 72.1% shooting from the field. Collins only saw the court for 21 minutes against the Clippers earlier this season due to foul trouble, however, still was very productive as he put up 18 points, 3 rebounds, & 6 assists. Collins should be seeing 30+ minutes tonight and as the Clippers rank just 28th vs. opposing PF’s and are on the 2nd half of a back-to-back, I like Collins to have a big game tonight.
Al Horford is no longer on a minute’s restrictions and I think tonight is a great opportunity to get him in your lineups as he has a great match-up at home against the Brooklyn Nets who have struggled defensively against opposing bigs all season. Horford has been great in his last two games as he is averaging 19.0 ppg, 12.5 rpg, 3.5 apg, 2.5 bpg, & 1.0 spg in a solid 33.5 mpg and I don’t see any reason why he can’t continue to put up these types of numbers again tonight against the Nets.
Check back later for updates.
