DFS – Fantasy Basketball – NBA FanDuel Initial Lineup – 12/19/18
Updated (6:28 PM) - Decided that I'm going for a GPP lineup tonight as we can pay-up for Westbrook, George, & AD while still getting some quality players in the other positions. Image is updated! Good Luck!
We have a huge 12-game NBA FanDuel slate tonight that starts at 7:00pm!
I’m keeping my initial write-up pretty short as of right now as I’m positive many things will change as the day goes on.
I’ll be updating my lineup around 6:00-6:30pm so please check back later for any updates!
As for now, Derek Rose seems like a pretty safe bet as with Jeff Teague already listed as out due to an ankle injury, Rose will take over the starting PG’s duties for the Timberwolves. Rose is averaging 18.5 ppg, 4.6 apg, and 2.9 rpg on the season and certainly has the upside to go off for a big night if he sees 30+ minutes.
With Jaylin Brown currently listed as questionable, I really like both Terry Rozier & Marcus Smart if Brown can’t go. Phoenix has struggled agianst PG’s all season and as I think there is a good chance of a blowout, I think Rozier could see some extended minutes and he is more than capable of putting up 30+ FanDuel points. Smart’s minutes are generally safe and as he has upside if he shot is falling, I don’t mind taking a chance at his current price.
Buddy Hield was the only starter that came to play against Minnesota on Monday and with both Bogdanovic & Shumpert currently GTD’s, I think Hield is a solid play at just $6,400 this season. Hield put up an impressive 21 points in just 18 minutes against the Timberwolves and as I think he’ll see 30+ minutes tonight, I think he’ll hit value.
Trevor Ariza has a huge first game with the Wizards last night putting up a monster 51.6 FanDuel point performance (19 pts, 8 reb, 4 ast, 6 stl) and as he should see plenty of minutes with Otto Porter Jr. still out, I don’t see any reason why not to roster him against, especially agianst his old team in the Houston Rockets.
As of right now, we found a way to pay up for both Giannis Antetokounmpo & Anthony Davis and what should be a high-scoring matchup. These are two of the best plays of the night and although I might swap out Antetokounmpo later to open up some salary relief later, as of now, I found a way to get both in the lineup.
To be able to fit both Davis/Antetokounmpo, I had to find some real value the rest of the way and it starts with Jonas Jerebko. Jerebko is still seeing 20-25 mpg even with Green back and as he has posted 23+ FanDuel points in 2 of his last 4 games, I’ll take my chances with him as of now.
We’ll have to keep an on the status of Serge Ibaka, however, if Ibaka isn’t able to go, Greg Monroe could be a great value pick at the Center position tonight considering the Raptors will already be without Jonas Valanciunas. Monroe’s size will be needed agianst the Indiana frontcourt and as he is more of an offensive-minded player, I think he can hit value if Ibaka can’t go.
