DFS – Fantasy Basketball – NBA FanDuel Initial Lineup – 12/28/18
UPDATED (6:22 PM) - Washington has a good matchup tonight agianst Chicago and now will be without Wall, Porter Jr., and Morris so I'm going with value here and getting Tomas Satoransky & Jeff Green in my lineup. I replaced Westbrook with Satoransky but in doing so, I have AD in the lineup now. Image is updated below! Good Luck!
Our final lineup had a solid 338.8-point performance last night that had us cashing in both our GPP’s & 50/50’s and let’s keep that going tonight.
Let’s take a look at our initial lineup for tonight NBA FanDuel Slate that features 10 games and starts at 7:00pm.
We’re going to start our “initial lineup” with a stack an Oklahoma City stack of Russell Westbrook, Dennis Schroder, and Stephen Adams as not only do they have a great matchup against the Phoenix Suns, they could be without Paul George who is battling a quadriceps injury. As of right now, I would be surprised if George plays as I think the Thunder will play it safe with their star forward, especially, as they have an easier matchup agianst the Suns.
Westbrook & Adams are still in play even if George suits up as the matchup is just so solid. Phoenix has been terrible agianst opposing PG’s & Centers all season as they currently rank 24th in DEFF vs. PG’s & 28th in DEFF vs. C’s. Westbrook is once agianst averaging a triple-double as he comes into this matchup averaging 20.2 ppg, 10.2 apg, & 10.7 rpg and recently went off for a 70.7 FanDuel point night agianst a Sacramento Kings team that has also struggled agianst PG’s this season. Adams comes in averaging 16.1 ppg & 9.9 RPG on the season and has posted at least 31.9 FanDuel points in 4 of his last 5 games.
Schroder is the only OKC player in which I’ll make an adjustment if George plays. Schroder is averaging 16.0 ppg, 4.6 apg, & 3.9 rpg and as he should see his usage spike up with George out, I think he can do a bunch of damage at this price point if he sees 34 minutes like he did against the Rockets on Christmas.
I’m also stacking the Lakers once agianst as although they will be on the 2nd half of a back-to-back, the young core of the Lakers just has too much upside at their current prices with Lebron currently out. We’re going to go with what I imagine will be a popular stack in Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram, and Kyle Kuzma in their great matchup against their cross-town rival, the LA Clippers. Ball has one of his best games as a Laker last night as he went 8 for 13 from the field for 20 points, 12 assists, 9 rebounds, 2 steals, and a block and faced a Clippers team that ranks just 22nd in DEFF vs. PG’s. Ingram has a bit of trouble with turnovers last night but still finished with 22 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 blocks, and a steal and I imagine we’ll see him put up around 20 shots once again tonight. Kuzma went 12 for 24 last night for 33 points, 9 rebounds, & 4 assists and as the Clippers rank just 25th in DEFF vs. PF, he is almost a chalk play at just $7,200. This trio put up 132.2 combined FanDuel points last night and with this matchup, there is no reason why they can’t match or exceed that total tonight.
We have Danny Green in the lineup as he is a decent salary saver in a decent matchup against the Orlando Magic. Orlando has really struggled as of late and a lot of that comes from not being able to defend the SG position as they recently allowed Devin Booker & Tyler Johnson to go off for big games. I think Green is a solid “low-scoring” punt play night as he does have 30+ FanDuel point upside in this matchup however, he does have a low floor if his shoot isn’t falling.
We’ll have to keep an eye on Hassan Whiteside who is currently questionable with a hip pointer. If he doesn’t go, you have to get Bam Adebayo in your lineups as the bargain price of just $4,200. Adebayo recently averaged 34.9 FanDuel points over a 4-game stretch in which Whiteside was out and I have little doubt that Adebayo will be able to at worst hit 5x value at his current price if he gets the start. If Whiteside does play, I’ll probably find a real low scoring “punt” play at the SG to replace Green which will allow me to pay up for James Johnson who is currently at $5,100 and has seen at least 29 minutes in 2 of his last 3 games.
Rounding out the team tonight will be Miami’s Justise Winslow is currently the starting PG’s for the Heat will Goran Dragic is out with a knee injury. Winslow is starting to come into his own as of late as over his last 9 games, he has posted 40+ FanDuel points in 4 of those games. Winslow is averaging 21.5 ppg, 4.5 apg, 4.0 rpg & 2.5 spg over his last two games and I think he’ll be able to continue posting those times of numbers in a great matchup agianst the Cleveland Cavaliers tonight.
