DFS – Fantasy Basketball – NBA FanDuel Initial Lineup – 12/30/18
Update (5:30 PM) - I'm sticking with the original lineup from this AM. Good Luck!
We’ve continued our strong run as of late for our FREE NBA lineups as our 351.4-point performance last night once again had us cashing in both our GPP’s & 50/50’s.
Let’s take a look at our initial lineup for the NBA 5-game “Main” slate that starts at 6:00pm today.
As of right now, we’re going to be heavily targeting the SAC/LAL matchup which has the highest O/U on the slate set at 232.
For the Lakers, we’re going with Lonzo Ball, Josh Hart, and Kyle Kuzma in the lineup as all of these players have done some heavy lifting for the Lakers since LeBron James went down with an injury.
Lonzo Ball has really picked it up on the offensive end as of late as in the two games that LeBron has been out, the 2nd year guard out of UCLA is averaging 19.5 ppg, 7.0 rpg, 9.0 apg & 1.5 spg. Ball has seen an average of 40 minutes in his last two games as Rondo is also out and you have to expect him to be a chalk play tonight after putting up a 55.8 FanDuel-point performance agianst the Kings last Thursday.
Josh Hart is once again seeing major minutes as he has been starting over the last two games and make the perfect “low-scoring” option tonight as he does have 30+ FanDuel point upside, however, still has just a $3,700 price tag on him. Hart put up a solid stat line of 10 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists, 3 steals, & 1 block in 33 minutes agianst the Kings last Thursday and I expect similar production out of him tonight.
I love how Kyle Kuzma has no reservations on putting up shots and with Lebron out, we’ve seen the former Utah Utes put up an average of 22.5 shots per game while seeing 40+ minutes over his last two games. Kuzma is averaging 28.5 ppg, 8.5 rpg, & 4.5 apg since LeBron has been out and should get us at least 40+ FanDuel points tonight.
For the Kings, we’re going with De’Aaron Fox, Nemanja Bjelica, and Willie Cauley-Stein.
I think most people are going to be on Tyus Jones with both Rose & Teague looking doubtful for Minnesota’s game against the Heat, however, I’m ok with that as I think it will drive ownership down on Fox who has been absolutely spectacular in his 2nd season with the Kings. Fox is averaging 19.0 ppg, 10.4 apg, 4.2 rpg, & 2.6 spg over his last 5 games and has posted at least 43.4 FanDuel points in that span. Fox seems to relish going up agianst Ball to prove that he was the best PG out of the 2017 class and as Fox has had Ball’s number both at Kentucky and in the NBA, I think we can pencil Fox in for a 50 FanDuel point night tonight.
Nemanja Bjelica has had an up and down season in his first season with the Kings, however, you have to like the upside he brings, especially as he has been seeing about 30 mpg since Bagley III has been out with his injury. Bjelica is averaging 11.4 ppg, 6.6 rpg, 1.8 apg, & 1.8 bpg over his last 5 games and put up a solid 38.5 FanDuel point performance against the Lakers last Thursday.
I’m going with Willie Cauley-Stein as I think he is at a very reasonable price for the upside that he brings to this matchup. Cauley-Stein is averaging a double-double (15.4 ppg, 10.0 rpg, 3.2 apg, 1.2 spg) over his last 5 games while also seeing an average of 32.2 mpg in that span. Cauley-Stein hit 5x value against the Lakers last Thursday putting up a 38.1 FanDuel Point performance and I think he can beat that if he is putting up another 15 shots tonight.
As of right now, I have Jimmy Butler in my lineup as Joel Embiid is currently questionable with a knee injury. Butler is a solid player regardless if Embiid plays or not, however, if Embiid isn’t able to go, I think Butler is almost a must play agianst a Trailblazers team on the 2nd half of a back-to-back.
We were all over Justise Winslow this past Saturday against Cleveland and he didn’t disappoint as he came through with a monster 51.7 FanDuel point performance after torching the Cavaliers for 24 points, 11 rebounds, 7 assists, and 2 steals. Winslow is really coming into his own as of late after taking over the starting PG duties for the Heat and as he most likely will be matched up agianst Tyus Jones, I think Winslow can dominate once again tonight.
Jerami Grant continues to produce for the Thunder and if George is out against, I think he is great value at just $5,700. Grant is averaging 15.6 ppg, 6.6 rpg, 2.0 bpg, and 1.2 spg over his last 5 games and has put up at least 36.1 FanDuel points in each of his last two games. The matchup agianst the Mavericks isn’t the greatest, however, the minutes will be there for Grant and as generally goes overlooked in the Thunder offense, I think he can continue his recent strong play tonight.
