Kevin gives his picks and Preview of the 2014 Breeder's Cup Turf Sprint

It is very much in question who is going to go off favored in the 2014 Breeder’s Cup Turf Sprint which figures to be an absolute scramble, which is fitting for Santa Anita’s unique downhill turf course.
With a wide-open race in mind, it seems like a decent idea to take a shot in this race. Ambitious Brew can be considered a “horse for the course” which is always a strong angle on this strip. Ambitious Brew was last seen as a beaten favorite in the G3 Eddie D here in September, his first start since February and a step forward off that effort appears likely, which should put him right there at the end coming from off the pace. Sweet Swap comes in off a 6-month layoff and boasts an 8-4-2-1 career record over the course, including wins in his last two tries. Sadler has respectable numbers off this type of layoff and it’s tough to believe he’d be entered if he was not 100% ready to roll. Reneesgotzip has never won on this course, but was in the mix last year and she figures to be a reasonably popular pick, but if she gains too much momentum at the windows, I can live with making her prove it to me.
