The Los Angeles Angels and the Houston Astros face off on Sunday in Anaheim for game four of their MLB series of AL West teams.

Starting pitcher Matt Shoemaker allowed six hits and six runs while striking out four over 3.0 innings to take the loss and fall to 2-3 for the season. For Sunday’s game the Angels start Garrett Richards who has allowed 17 hits and seven earned runs while striking out 19 over 25 innings for a 2-1 record and a 2.52 ERA.
The Houston Astros seized the lead early on Saturday and made it stand up as they got the win. Jake Marisnick had two hits and Jose Altuve and Luis Valbuena had hits as the Astros scored six runs on six hits. Starting pitcher Dallas Keuchel allowed eight hits and four runs while striking out seven over 6.2 innings to get the win and go to 4-0 for the season and Chad Qualls earned his third save. For Sunday’s game the Astros start Scott Feldman who has allowed 43 hits and 21 runs while striking out 18 over 34.1 innings for a 2-3 record and a 5.50 ERA.
Los Angeles is 9-2 in game four of a series, 3-9 at home against a right-handed starter, and 19-7 in Richards’ last 26 starts. Houston is 4-1 in game four of a series, 8-2 against a right-handed starter, and 3-7 in Feldman’s last 10 starts. Houston is 3-9 in their last 12 games in Los Angeles.
The Astros are just the better team right now so getting them as a big dog even against Richards they are worth taking a chance on.
