The Line: Arizona Diamondbacks -185 / San Francisco Giants +174 --- Over/Under: 8
Down at Chase Field on Sunday, the San Francisco Giants and the Arizona Diamondbacks will be finishing up their MLB set.
The two teams split the first pair of games in this series, then on Saturday the D-Backs won 9-3.
For Sunday’s game, the Giants will be sending out lefty Derek Holland. In his 113.0 innings and 5-8 mark this year, Holland has a 3.90 ERA with 114 Ks and 41 BBs.
Coming into the weekend, Brandon Crawford had the lead on the Giants hitters with 107 hits, 46 runs, 10 homers and 44 RBI. On Saturday, Crawford came up empty.
Over on the Diamondbacks’ side, they’re rolling with Robbie Ray on Sunday. Across his 66.0 innings and 3-2 record this season, Ray has a 5.05 ERA with 87 Ks and 33 BBs.
David Peralta is tops in hitting for Arizona, entering the weekend on 115 hits, 50 runs, 17 homers and 54 RBI. In game three, Peralta had a hit and a run.
The Giants are 6-0 in their last six in game four of a series and 12-3 in their last 15 Sunday games. San Fran is also 7-3 in Holland’s last 10 starts and 5-1 in his last six starts versus the NL West.
Meanwhile, the Diamondbacks are 2-5 in their last seven in game four of a series and 6-0 in Ray’s last six starts with five days’ rest. Arizona is also 0-4 in Ray’s last four starts and 1-4 in his last five home starts.
Over his last two starts, Holland has been solid, bagging three earned on seven hits across 11.0 total innings. As for Ray, he had a good start in Chicago, but the other two of his last three starts combined for nine earned in 10.2 innings. I’m going to go with Holland keeping it steady here so I’ll take the Giants.
