Brett Davis-USA TODAY Sports

The Chicago Cubs and Atlanta Braves meet Thursday in MLB action at SunTrust Park.

The Chicago Cubs look to stay hot after winning 10 of their last 14 games. The Cubs have scored 12 runs in their last three games and seven or more runs in five of their last eight games. The Chicago Cubs have won 10 of their last 12 games when scoring more than one run. Javier Baez leads the Cubs with 146 hits and 97 RBI while Anthony Rizzo and Ben Zobrist have combined for 245 hits and 136 RBI. Mike Montgomery gets the ball, and he is 4-4 with a 3.62 ERA and 61 strikeouts this season. Montgomery is 1-1 with a 2.57 ERA and six strikeouts in his career against the Braves.

The Atlanta Braves look for a victory after winning six of their last nine games. The Braves have scored 18 runs in their last three games and four or more runs in five of their last eight games. The Atlanta Braves have won five of their last six games when scoring more than one run. Nick Markakis  leads the Braves with 160 hits and 83 RBI while Freddie Freeman and Ozzie Albies have combined for 304 hits and 140 RBI. Mike Foltynewicz gets the ball, and he is 10-8 with a 2.67 ERA and 169 strikeouts this season. Foltynewicz is 0-2 with a 5.06 ERA and 18 strikeouts in his career against the Cubs.

The Cubs are 10-3 in their last 13 vs. National League East, 43-15 in their last 59 Thursday games and 1-5 in Montgomerys last 6 starts. The Braves are 4-0 in their last 4 vs. National League Central, 9-4 in their last 13 Thursday games and 5-2 in Foltynewiczs last 7 home starts. The Cubs are 6-1 in the last 7 meetings in Atlanta, 17-7 in the last 24 meetings and the under is 4-1 in the last 5 meetings in Atlanta.

Montgomery has been money on the road this season, but he hasn't pitched in over two weeks due to a shoulder injury. Foltynewicz has given up just two runs in his last 21 innings and is allowing just a .198 batting average at home this season. Foltynewicz gives the Braves a chance to win every time he takes the mound and has been a strikeout machine as of late. I'll take the home team and the cheap price in this spot.
