Atlanta Braves -210 / Kansas City Royals +194 O/U: 10
The Kansas City Royals and the Atlanta Braves will finish up their two-game MLB set on Wednesday.
In the Tuesday edition of this series, the Royals slammed out three runs in the eighth and held on for a 5-4 win.
For Wednesday’s game, the Royals will be sending out Brad Keller in the start. Over 125.0 innings and a 6-9 mark so far, Keller has a 4.18 ERA with 91 Ks and 57 BBs.
KC put up just five hits in the Tuesday win, but made them count. Alex Gordon was a key contributor on a homer, a double, two RBI and two runs.
Over on the Braves’ side, they’re sending out Julio Teheran as the starter Wednesday. In 112.1 innings and a 5-6 record this year, Teheran has a 3.61 ERA with 102 Ks and 52 BBs.
Atlanta managed 11 hits in the Tuesday loss but didn’t have much luck on the scoreboard. Four Twins players put up two hits apiece in that one.
The Royals are 5-15 in their last 20 in game two of a series and 1-7 in their last eight Wednesday games. KC is 4-0 in Keller’s last four starts and 3-8 in his last 11 road starts.
Meanwhile, the Braves are 4-1 in the last five Wednesday games and 6-2 in their last eight in game two of a series. Atlanta is 4-0 in Teheran’s last four starts and 5-1 in his last six home starts.
Keller has been pitching well in his last two games. During that pair, he’s given up just three earned in 14.1 innings on 13 hits. Both were wins and both were quality starts.
As for Teheran, he has two quality starts in his last three outings, giving up three earned on 17.2 innings in that trio. Thing is, Teheran hasn’t recorded a victory in any of his last six starts.
This is a pretty darn solid pitching matchup and should be fun to watch. I’m going to take something of a chance on Teheran (finally) getting a win here and take the Braves.
