Atlanta Braves +105 / New York Mets -115 O/U: 8.5
The New York Mets and the Atlanta Braves will meet up on the MLB diamond Tuesday to continue their series.
In the Monday opener of this set, the Braves peppered in runs across four innings en route to a 12-3 win.
For Tuesday’s game, the Mets will be sending out Jacob deGrom for the start. In his 82.2 innings and 3-6 mark this year, deGrom has a 3.38 ERA with 102 Ks and 20 BBs.
New York put up seven hits in the Monday loss. Amed Rosiaro was the only New York player with two knocks, and he added a pair of runs as well.
Over on the Braves’ side, they’re going with Julio Teheran in the start Tuesday. Teheran has 83.1 innings and a 5-4 record to his credit this year, with a 2.92 ERA, 76 Ks and 40 BBs.
The Braves offense whopped 16 hits in the Monday win. Leading the way for Atlanta are Brian McCann and Ozzie Albies, who combined for six hits, six RBI and four runs.
The Mets are 7-2 in their last nine Tuesday games and 1-6 in deGrom’s last seven Tuesday starts. New York is 0-4 in deGrom’s last four starts and 0-5 in his last five road starts.
Meanwhile, the Braves are 4-0 in Teheran’s last four starts and 6-1 in his last seven home starts. Atlanta is 1-4 in Teheran’s last five Tuesday starts and 4-1 in his last five versus a team with a losing record.
Since a bad start mid-May, deGrom has been cruising along well, with a total of eight earned runs across his last five starts. Trouble is, deGrom is just 0-2 over his last six games.
As for Teheran, he hasn’t given up more than one earned run in any of his last eight starts and will provide a great counterpoint here. I’m going with the Braves in a low-scoring and fun-to-watch game here.
