Down at SunTrust Park on Wednesday, the Washington Nationals and the Atlanta Braves will be finishing up their MLB series.

In the Monday opener of this set, the Nationals secured a 8-1 win. On Tuesday, the Braves struck back on a 13-6 romp.

For the Wednesday game, the Nationals will be bringing out RHP Max Scherzer. In his lone start this year, Scherzer managed a win with 6.0 innings, five hits and 10 Ks with no earned.

Heading into Tuesday, Adam Eaton led the Nats on eight hits, seven runs and five RBI, while Bryce Harper had three homers and seven RBI. On Tuesday, Eaton whiffed but Harper managed a homer.

Over on the Braves’ side, they’re going with RHP Mike Foltynewicz on Wednesday. In his one start this year, Foltynewicz managed a no-decision on 5.0 innings, five hits and two earned.

The Braves’ lead hitter coming into Tuesday was Ryan Flaherty, with eight hits, five runs and three doubles. In the Tuesday game, Freddie Freeman was a big swinger with a three-run homer and three runs.

The Nationals are 22-7 in Scherzer’s last 29 starts in game three of a series and 10-4 in his last 14 Wednesday starts. Washington is also 36-15 in Scherzer’s last 51 starts and 36-16 in his last 52 road starts.

Meanwhile, the Braves are 2-5 in their last seven in game three of a series and 0-4 in Foltynewicz’s last four home starts. Atlanta is also 0-4 in Foltynewicz’s last four starts with four days’ rest and 0-8 in his last eight starts.

There’s not much to like about the Braves’ chances this year, but if all goes well they’ll be taking a step forward. Part of that is Foltynewicz, who should have another decent outing here at least. Still, going up against Scherzer on the other side I have to stick with the Nats.

Pick:
Washington Nationals -182
