The Atlanta Braves and the Washington Nationals face off on Saturday for game two of their series in Atlanta.

The Atlanta Braves got out to a big lead on Friday and they were able to make it hold up as the beat the first place Nationals in game one of their series. B.J. Upton, Tommy La Stella, Freddie Freeman, and Justin Upton each hit home runs as the Braves scored seven runs on nine hits. Starting pitcher Ervin Santana allowed four hits and four runs while striking out four over 6.0 innings to get the win and go to 11-6 for the season and Craig Kinbrel earned his 33rd save. For Saturday’s game the Braves start Aaron Harang who has no decisions in each of his last four starts. For the season Harang has allowed 144 hits and 54 earned runs while striking out 110 over 142.1 innings for a 9-6 record and a 3.41 ERA.

The Washington Nationals fought from way back on Friday but in the end they were a run short as tey lost to the Braves. Anthony Rendon and Wilson Ramos each hit home runs and Denard Span had three hits as the nationals scored six runs on six hits. Starting pitcher Stephen Strasburg allowed seven hits and seven runs while striking out nine over 5.0 innings to take the loss and fall to 8-10 for the season. For Saturday’s game the Nats start Tanner Roark who is coming off of a loss in his last start. For the season Roark has allowed 123 hits and 46 earned runs while striking out 106 over 141 innings for an 11-7 record and a 2.94 ERA.

Atlanta is 10-4 as a home underdog, 1-5 in game two of a series, and 0-4 in Harang’s last four starts. Washington is 7-3 in game two of a series, 58-29 as a road favorite, and 4-1 in Roark’s last four starts. Washington in 9-25 in the last 34 meetings of these two.

Washington has the edge on the mound and that should be enough to get them the win.
