Baltimore Orioles +128 / Boston Red Sox -138 O/U: 10
The Boston Red Sox and the Baltimore Orioles will meet up on the MLB diamond to finish their series on Sunday.
In the Friday opener, the Red Sox stomped to a 13-2 victory. On Saturday, Boston put up three in the sixth and three more in the ninth for a 7-2 win.
For the Sunday game, the Sox will be going with Brian Johnson in the start. Over his 1-0 mark and 12.71 ERA this year, Johnson has notched seven Ks.
Boston notched 12 hits in the Saturday win. Leading the way was Brock Holt on three hits, two RBI and a run.
Over on the Orioles’ side, they’re sending out John Means in the start Sunday. Over his 65.2 innings and 6-4 record this year, Means has a 2.60 ERA with 57 Ks and 19 BBs.
Baltimore put up eight knocks in the Saturday loss but couldn’t turn them into runs quite so well. Hanser Alberto and Trey Mancini each put up a 2-for-5 line with one run apiece in that one.
The Red Sox are 57-15 in their last 72 in game three of a series and 30-11 in their last 41 Sunday games. Boston is 1-4 in their last five versus a starter with a WHIP less than 1.15 and the under is 35-17-2 in their last 54 Sunday games.
The Orioles are 19-53 in their last 72 in game three of a series and 0-4 in their last four Sunday games. Baltimore is 1-4 in Means’ last five starts and 4-1 in his last five home starts.
Means has been pitching great lately. Over his last three starts, he’s allowed just three earned runs (one in each) off 11 total hits with 19 strikeouts in 17.0 innings. The rub there is, he’s only gotten one win for his troubles due to meager offensive support.
With Means coming in hot, so long as the O’s can get the bats going a little bit, this might be a good spot for Baltimore to sneak away with one.
