|Date & Time||Sunday September 16, 2018, 1:05 PM (EDT)|
The Line: Baltimore Orioles +108 / Chicago White Sox -118 --- Over/Under: 9.5
The Chicago White Sox and the Baltimore Orioles will be finishing up their MLB series from Oriole Park on Sunday.
In the Friday opener, the Sox managed an 8-6 win. On Saturday, Chicago kept it going with a 2-0 victory.
For the Sunday game, the White Sox will be bringing out RHP Lucas Giolito. In his 159.1 innings and 10-10 mark this year, Giolito has a 5.76 ERA with 117 Ks and 81 BBs.
The White Sox’ top hitter this year is Yolmer Sanchez, who came into the weekend on 133 hits, 55 runs and 48 RBI. On Saturday, Sanchez posted a hit and an RBI.
Over on the O’s side, on Sunday they’re sending out David Hess Sunday. In his 87.0 innings and 3-10 record this year, Hess has a 5.17 ERA with 58 Ks.
Adam Jones leads the Orioles attack this year, entering the weekend on 149 hits, 51 runs, 14 homers and 56 RBI. In game two Jones logged one hit.
The White Sox are 5-1 in Giolito’s last six road starts and 5-1 in his last six Sunday starts. Chicago is 7-1 in Giolito’s last eight road starts versus a team with a losing record and 6-2 in his last eight starts versus a team with a losing record.
Meanwhile, the Orioles are 14-38 in their last 52 in game three of a series and 0-5 in their last five Sunday games. The over is 11-3-1 in Baltimore’s last 15 Sunday games and they’re 16-37 in their last 53 home games.
Looking at Giolito’s recent starts, his numbers look pretty good. He’s got five quality starts in his last six outings, and in his last appearance he went 7.0 innings with six hits and three earned in KC (but failed to get the win). I like Giolito to manage another good game here so I’m going with the Sox.
