Baltimore Orioles +305 / Houston Astros -350 O/U: 10
The Houston Astros and the Baltimore Orioles will meet up on the MLB diamond Sunday to complete their series.
The Astros eked out a 3-2 win in the Friday opener of this set, then on Saturday we had a pretty epic bombardment as Houston cruised 23-2.
For the Sunday game, the Astros will send out Justin Verlander in the start. Across his 157.2 innings and 15-4 mark so far, Verlander has a 2.68 ERA with 206 Ks and 33 BBs.
Houston put up an incredible 25 hits on Saturday in the win. Yordan Alvarez led the way on seven RBI, three hits and four runs.
Over on the Orioles’ side, they’re going with Asher Wojciechowski in the Sunday outing. In 38.2 innings and a 2-5 record this season, Wojciechowski has a 4.89 ERA with 47 Ks and 14 BBs.
Baltimore just couldn’t get anything going Saturday, finishing with six hits as a team.
The Astros are 9-0 in the last nine in game three of a series and 7-0 in the last seven Sunday games. Houston is 6-1 in Verlander’s last seven Sunday starts and 24-5 in his last 29 road starts.
Meanwhile, the Orioles are 24-60 in their last 84 in game three of a series and 7-19 in their last 26 Sunday games. Baltimore is 2-5 in Wojciechowski’s last seven starts and the under is 12-3-1 in their last 16 Sunday games.
Verlander has been excellent as usual over his last five starts, bagging a total of five earned runs in 31.0 innings of work during that stretch—all five of them were wins as well.
As for Wojciechowski, he’s given up nine earned over his last two starts in 8.2 innings—both losses. I have to stick with the Astros in this one with Verlander on the mound, even though the line is gargantuan.
