Kansas City Royals (12-23) at Baltimore Orioles (8-27)
|Date & Time||Thursday May 10, 2018, 7:05 PM (EDT)|
The Line: Baltimore Orioles -105 / Kansas City Royals -105 --- Over/Under: 10
Over at Oriole Park on Thursday, the Kansas City Royals and the Baltimore Orioles will be finishing up their MLB series.
On Tuesday, the Royals recorded a 15-7 win. In the Wednesday game, Baltimore came back 5-3.
For Thursday, the Royals will be brining out RHP Ian Kennedy. Over his 37.0 innings and 1-3 record this year, Kennedy has a 2.92 ERA with 35 Ks and 11 BBs.
Following the opener of this set, Mike Moustakas led the Royals with 42 hits, 23 runs, 10 homers and 28 RBI. On Wednesday, Moustakas put up an 0-for-4 line.
Over on the Orioles’ side, they’re going with Chris Tillman on Thursday. Across 25.1 innings and a 1-5 record this year, Tillman has a 9.24 ERA with 13 Ks and 14 walks.
Manny Machado sits atop the Orioles’ lineup with 46 hits, 17 runs, nine homers and 27 RBI heading into Wednesday. In game two of this set, Machado had a hit and a run.
The Royals are 7-19 in the last 26 during game three of a series and 2-8 in their last 10 Thursday games. KC is also 0-4 in Kennedy’s last four Thursday starts and 0-4 in his last four starts versus the AL East.
Meanwhile, the Orioles are 3-15 in their last 18 during game three of a series and 11-1 in Tillman’s last 12 starts with six days’ rest. Baltimore is also 4-1 in Tillman’s last five home starts and 1-5 in his last six starts.
Kennedy has been pretty good overall this year, but does have a couple of stinkers on his resume (eight earned in 8.0 innings over two starts in April). Tillman has just one good start this season, and the rest have been downright ugly at times. I don’t see a whole lot of reasons not to pick the Royals here.
