The Line: Baltimore Orioles -122 / Kansas City Royals +113 --- Over/Under: 7
The ALCS continues Saturday when the Kansas City Royals and Baltimore Orioles battle in game two.
The Kansas City Royals squandered a big lead before rallying to down the Orioles 8-6 in ten innings in the ALCS opener. Starter James Shields gave up four runs on ten hits over five frames for a ND. The Royals offense saved the day with a 12 hit, seven walk attack that featured three homers. Alex Gordon went deep and drove in four with Mike Moustakas slamming a two run jack while Alcides Escobar went solo. Rookie Yordano Ventura makes his second start of the postseason and third appearance overall. Ventura has faced the Orioles twice in 2014 and has allowed two runs over 14.1 innings.
The Baltimore Orioles looked to be dead in the water early as they faced a 4-1 deficit before coming back to knot things 5-5 only to watch their bullpen falter in the 10th. Chris Tillman was charged with five runs on seven hits and a pair of base on balls through 4.1 innings. Darren O'Day took the loss with a two run homer served up in the 10th with Brian Matusz giving up a solo jack. The Orioles pounded out 14 hits and walked three times with Ryan Flaherty pacing the offense with a pair of RBI's while five players drove in runs and six scored. Left Wei-Yin Chen gets the ALCS game two stary against the Kansas City Royals Saturday. Chen looks to rebound from his ALDS start versus Detroit where he gave up five runs in 3.2 innings of the O's 7-6 victory.
I think the Orioles let a crucial win get away from them Friday after a huge comeback. I'm just going with the better odds and hope Baltimore wins as a fan...
