Baltimore Orioles +128 / Los Angeles Angels -138 O/U: 9.5
The Los Angeles Angels and the Baltimore Orioles will be matching up to finish their MLB set on Sunday.
In the Friday opener, the Angels secured an 8-3 victory. In game two on Saturday, the Angels banged out a 7-2 win.
For the Sunday game, the Angels will be going with Griffin Canning in the starting role. Across his 9.2 innings and 1-0 mark this year, Canning has a 4.66 ERA with 13 Ks and two walks.
LA’s offense had some big innings in the Saturday victory. Albert Pujols was the star there with two homers, three RBI and three runs.
Over on the O’ side, they’re going with John Means as the Sunday starter. In his 32.2 innings and 4-3 record this year, Means has a 2.48 ERA with 29 Ks and seven walks.
Baltimore’s offense put up nine hits on the night Saturday but couldn’t get much going. Dwight Smith put up a two-run homer though.
The Angels are 3-8 in their last 11 versus a left-handed starter and the over is 4-1 in their last four in game three of a series. The under is 7-3-2 in LA’s last 12 Sunday games and 10-3 in their last 13 road games versus a left-handed starter.
Meanwhile, the Orioles are 0-4 in the last four Sunday games and 18-45 in the last 63 in game three of a series. The under is 4-1 in Baltimore’s last five in game three of a series and 4-0 in Means’ last four starts overall.
We’ve only been able to see Canning a couple of times this year, but overall he’s been solid with a total of five earned runs in two starts.
As for Means, he does have one bad appearance on his resume this year (5.0 innings; four earned; six hits on April 29 versus the White Sox) but aside from that he’s been pretty reliable.
I like Means’ chances enough to take Baltimore on a value pick here.
