Oriole Park will come alive once again on Friday as the Los Angeles Angels and the Baltimore Orioles kick off their MLB series.

LA comes into this one following a set with the Red Sox. After losing the first two games (and giving up 18 runs in the process), on Thursday the Angels fell again 4-2.

For the Friday game, the Angels will be going with RHP Felix Pena. In his 11.2 innings, Pena has a 5.40 ERA with 14 Ks this season.

Mike Trout is the top hitter for the Angels this year, with 91 hits, 62 runs, 23 homers and 48 RBI coming into the Sox finale. On Thursday, Trout plated a run.

As for the Orioles, they just finished against the Mariners. Baltimore lost the first three games of that series, then in the finale Thursday the Orioles fell again 4-2.

Baltimore’s starting pitcher on Friday will be David Hess. Over 41.1 innings and a 2-4 record this year, Hess has a 5.44 ERA with 24 Ks.

Entering play Thursday, Manny Machado had the edge on the hitting lead for Baltimore with 92 hits, 39 runs, 19 homers and 55 RBI. In the Mariners finale, Machado hit a solo homer.

The Angels are 4-0 in their last four Friday games and 7-1 in their last eight road games versus a team with a home winning percentage of less than .400. LA is also 20-7 in their last 27 games versus a team with a winning percentage below .400 and the under is 4-1 in their last five Friday games.

Meanwhile, the Orioles are 10-25 in their last 35 in game one of a series and 0-13 in their last 13 versus the AL West. Baltimore is 27-76 in their last 103 overall and 10-44 in their last 54 versus a team with a winning record.

This will be Pena’s third start for the Angels and his first career start versus Baltimore, and he’s coming off a no-decision versus the Blue Jays. As for Hess, he’s failed to get through five innings and has given up five earned runs in each of his last three starts. All things considered, I’m going Angels here.

Los Angeles Angels -125
