Los Angeles Angels (42-41) at Baltimore Orioles (23-58)
|Date & Time||Sunday July 1, 2018, 1:05 PM (EDT)|
The Line: Baltimore Orioles -112 / Los Angeles Angels +102 --- Over/Under: 9.5
Out at Oriole Park on Sunday, the Los Angeles Angels and the Baltimore Orioles will be finishing up their MLB series.
LA took game one of this set Friday with a 7-1 win. On Saturday, the Angels scored five runs in the eighth inning on the way to a 6-2 victory.
For the Sunday game, the Angels will be bringing out RHP Deck McGuire. In his 13.1 innings this year, McGuire has a 6.08 ERA with eight Ks and six walks.
Mike Trout leads the way in hitting for LA this year, coming into the weekend with 92 hits, 65 runs, 24 homers and 49 RBI. On Saturday, Trout plated a run.
Over on the Orioles’ side, they’re going with Kevin Gausman on Sunday. Over 94.1 innings and a 3-6 record this year, Gausman has a 4.20 ERA with 88 Ks and 25 BBs.
Baltimore’s star hitter this year is Manny Machado, who came into the weekend on 95 hits, 40 runs, 20 homers and 56 RBI. In game two, Machado had two hits and an RBI.
The Angels are 1-4 in their last five Sunday games and 0-5 in their last five in game three of a series. The under is 8-3-2 in LA’s last 13 in game three of a series and they’re 2-5 in their last seven versus the AL East.
Meanwhile, the Orioles are 1-4 in their last five Sunday games and 4-22 in their last 26 in game three of a series. Baltimore is 5-16 in Gausman’s last 21 starts and 2-6 in his last eight Sunday starts.
This will be McGuire’s first start of the year, following a handful of relief appearances for Toronto and a pair for LA. As for Gausman, he’s got three quality starts in his last four games, and hasn’t given up more than two earned in any of his last three. I’m not super confident in McGuire right now, so this might be a good spot to pick the Orioles.
