Baltimore Orioles +125 / Minnesota Twins -141 O/U: 8.5
The Minnesota Twins and the Baltimore Orioles will meet up on the MLB diamond for Game 2 of a doubleheader Saturday.
This one will be a makeup of Friday's game, which was cancelled due to weather.
The Twins just finished up a series versus the Blue Jays, losing on Thursday 7-4. In that one, Eddie Rosario logged two solo homers and Jonathan Schoop had two hits with an RBI.
For the Saturday Game 2, the Twins will be sending out lefty Martin Perez in the start. Perez is carrying a 1-0 record with a 5.02 ERA and 17 Ks so far this year.
As for the Orioles, they met up with the Rays this week. In Thursday’s finale, Baltimore eked out a 6-5 victory in an 11-inning battle.
Over on the Orioles’ side, they’re going with Alex Cobb in Game 2 Saturday. In his only appearance this season, Cobb went 5.2 innings with five hits and two earned runs alongside four strikeouts.
The Twins are 4-1 in their last five second games of a doubleheader and 15-6 in their last 21 overall. Minnesota is 17-8 in their last 25 versus the AL East and 3-7 in their last 10 Saturday games.
Meanwhile, the under is 10-4-1 in Baltimore's last 15 Saturday games and the over is 4-0 in their last four in game two of a series. Baltimore is 18-46 in their last 64 in game two of a series and 1-11 in Cobb’s last 12 home starts.
Perez looked solid in his first start Monday, following a string of three relief appearances. In that start, Perez put up one run in six innings with five strikeouts.
As for Cobb, he’s fresh off the IL (again) but the good news is he did look pretty solid in his lone start versus the Yankees April 4.
All things considered though, I like Perez to keep it going here; if he gets a little bat support he should be just fine.
