Baltimore Orioles +102 / New York Yankees -212 O/U: 9.5
The New York Yankees and the Baltimore Orioles will meet up in MLB action on Tuesday to continue their set.
In game one of this series on Monday, the Yankees scored nine runs in the final four innings, capped by a four-run ninth, to emerge victorious 10-7.
For the Tuesday game, the Yankees will be bringing out Domingo German in the start. Over his 50.1 innings and 8-1 mark this year, German has a 2.50 ERA with 52 Ks and 15 BBs.
New York really got things going in the ninth inning Tuesday, and the crazy frame was highlighted by Gary Sanchez’s three-run homer. Luke Voit also smacked a double in that one and plated a run.
Over on the Orioles’ side, they’re going with David Hess on Tuesday. In his 40.1 innings and 1-5 record so far, Hess has a 5.58 ERA with 33 Ks and 14 BBs.
Hanser Adalberto was the top hitter for the Orioles on Monday, blasting a solo homer with four hits, two RBI and three runs.
The Yankees are 21-8 in their last 29 Tuesday games and 5-0 in German’s last five road starts. New York is 4-0 in German’s last four starts on grass and 5-1 in his last six in game two of a series.
Meanwhile, Baltimore is 17-37 in their last 54 Tuesday games and 22-51 in their last 73 in game two of a series. The Orioles are 5-21 in Hess’ last 26 starts and 0-4 in his last four home starts.
German has been a reliable arm for the Yankees this season (and they’ve needed it). In four of his last six outings, German has put up a quality start, and he’s coming off 7.0 innings with one earned versus Baltimore his last time out.
As for Hess, he’s given up seven earned on nine hits in his last 10.0 innings over two starts, so he’s been serviceable but not much beyond that. This should be the Yankees game to take, and there’s not a whole lot of value in the Orioles number anyway. I’ll go NY.
