Baltimore Orioles +185 / New York Yankees -200 O/U: 9
The New York Yankees and the Baltimore Orioles will meet up to finish their MLB series on Thursday.
The Yankees took the first two games of this set 10-7 on Monday and 11-4 on Tuesday, then in the Wednesday game three the Yankees put up four runs in the second inning and hung on for an unexpectedly close 7-5 win.
For Thursday’s finale, the Yankees will be bringing out Masahiro Tanaka in the start. Over his 3-3 mark and 3.09 ERA this year, the veteran Tanaka has 53 Ks to his credit.
The Yankees bats were moving on Wednesday, and none so more than Gleyber Torres, who ripped a pair of solo homers.
Over on the Orioles’ side, they’re going with Dylan Bundy on Thursday. Alongside a 2-5 record this year and a 4.66 ERA, Bundy has 47 strikeouts so far.
Baltimore put up some nice offensive flashes in the loss Wednesday, but couldn’t close the early gap. Richie Martin was the only Oriole with two hits, alongside two runs and a solo homer.
The Yankees are 1-5 in Tanaka’s last six starts in game four of a series and 1-5 in his last six after a quality start in his last appearance. The under is 7-3-1 in Tanaka’s last 11 road starts and the over is 10-4-1 in his last 15 starts versus the AL East.
Meanwhile, the O’s are 1-6 in Bundy’s last seven home starts and 5-21 in his last 26 versus the AL East. Baltimore is 7-20 in Bundy’s last 27 starts and 7-19 in their last 26 Thursday games.
Tanaka has been really solid over his last three starts. In that span, he’s 2-1 with a 1.40 ERA on 19.1 innings and three runs.
As for Bundy, he’s been solid over his last three starts as well—coincidentally enough—and has a 1.50 ERA in that stretch.
Though I think the Yankees and more specifically Tanaka are the more likely victors here, this probably isn’t a bad spot for Bundy and an Orioles value pick if you’re so inclined.
