|Date & Time||Wednesday July 11, 2018, 7:05 PM (EDT)|
The Line: Baltimore Orioles +135 / New York Yankees -145 --- Over/Under: 9.5
Coming up Wednesday from Oriole Park, the New York Yankees and the Baltimore Orioles will be finishing up their MLB set.
The Orioles took game one of the doubleheader Monday, and the Yankees bounced back to split the day. On Tuesday, Baltimore secured a walk-off 6-5 win.
For the Wednesday game, the Yankees will be sending out Sonny Gray. In his 84.2 innings and 5-7 mark this year, RHP Gray has a 5.85 ERA with 77 Ks and 38 BBs.
The Yankees’ leading hitter this year is Giancarlo Stanton, who came into game three with 94 hits, 55 runs, 22 homers and 52 RBI. On Tuesday, Stanton came up empty.
Over on the Orioles’ side, they’re going with Dylan Bundy on Wednesday. Over 99.1 innings and a 6-8 record this year, Bundy has a 4.08 ERA with 110 Ks and 30 BBs.
Manny Machado leads the way for the Orioles on the season with 107 hits, 44 runs, 21 homers and 60 RBI entering game three. On Tuesday, Machado ripped a pair of homers with three RBI.
The Yankees are 37-15 in their last 52 Wednesday games and 1-4 in Gray’s last five starts. New York is 2-5 in Gray’s last seven starts versus the AL East and the under is 4-1-1 in their last six Wednesday games.
Meanwhile, the Orioles are 4-12 in their last 16 Wednesday games and 1-4 in their last five during game four of a series. Baltimore is 5-2 in Bundy’s last seven Wednesday starts and 1-9 in his last 10 starts versus the AL East.
Gray has looked pretty bad lately, giving up 15 earned over his last three starts in a span of 11.0 innings. As for Bundy, he had a pretty good run of starts going but then logged five earned in 3.1 innings in Minnesota his last time up. Baltimore isn’t the greatest club in the world this year, but I don’t trust Gray much at all right now. This isn’t a bad spot to think the O’s might get another one, and the over looks good too.
