|Date & Time||Thursday September 13, 2018, 7:05 PM (EDT)|
The Line: Baltimore Orioles +160 / Oakland Athletics -170 --- Over/Under: 9.5
The Oakland A’s and the Baltimore Orioles will be finishing up their MLB set from Oriole Park on Thursday.
The A’s took a 3-2 victory on Tuesday, then in the Wednesday game Oakland ripped a 10-1 win, scoring all their runs in the third inning and holding Baltimore to just one hit.
For Thursday’s matchup, the A’s will be bringing out LHP Brett Anderson. In his 65.0 innings and 3-4 record this year, Anderson has a 4.02 ERA with 34 Ks and 12 BBs.
Tops in hitting for the A’s this season is Marcus Semien, who came into game two with 148 hits, 81 runs, 12 homers and 56 RBI. On Wednesday, Semien had a hit and a run.
Over on the Orioles’ side, they’re going with Dylan Bundy on Thursday. Across his 150.0 innings and 7-14 record this year, Bundy has a 5.58 ERA with 158 Ks and 49 BBs.
Leading the way for the Orioles hitters is Adam Jones, who came into Tuesday on 149 hits, 51 runs, 14 homers and 55 RBI. In game two, Jones was 0-for-2.
The A’s are 7-3 in their last 10 Thursday games and 5-1 in Anderson’s last six road starts versus a team with a losing record. Oakland is also 21-8 in Anderson’s last 29 starts versus a team with a losing record and 2-5 in his last seven starts versus the AL East.
Meanwhile, the Orioles are 8-20 in their last 28 Thursday games and 13-38 in their last 51 in game three of a series. Baltimore is 8-22 in Bundy’s last 30 starts and 7-3 in his last 10 starts versus the AL West.
After a string of three quality starts in four outings, Anderson stumbled in Houston his last time up with five earned in 2.2 innings. As for Bundy, he’s allowed at least six earned in four of his last six starts. With the way Oakland has been playing lately, I have to go with the A’s here.
