|Date & Time||Tuesday June 26, 2018, 7:05 PM (EDT)|
The Line: Baltimore Orioles +149 / Seattle Mariners -159 --- Over/Under: 8.5
The Seattle Mariners and Baltimore Orioles meet Tuesday in MLB action at Oriole Park at Camden Yards.
The Seattle Mariners look for another victory after losing six of their last eight games. The Mariners have scored 12 runs in their last three games and five or more runs in five of their last 10 games. The Seattle Mariners have won five of their last seven games when scoring more than three runs. Jean Segura leads the Mariners with 99 hits and 44 RBI while Dee Gordon and Mitch Haniger have combined for 160 hits and 79 RBI. James Paxton gets the ball, and he is 6-2 with a 3.72 ERA and 124 strikeouts this season. Paxton is 1-0 with a 4.50 ERA and seven strikeouts in his career against the Orioles.
The Baltimore Orioles look for some consistency after splitting their last eight games. The Orioles have scored 13 runs in their last three games and four or more runs in five of their last nine games. The Baltimore Orioles have split their last six games when scoring more than three runs. Manny Machado leads the Orioles with 90 hits and 55 RBI while Adam Jones and Trey Mancini have combined for 150 hits and 54 RBI. Kevin Gausman gets the ball, and he is 3-6 with a 4.38 ERA and 84 strikeouts this season. Gausman is 1-2 with a 3.04 ERA and 24 strikeouts in his career against the Mariners.
The Mariners are 7-2 in their last 9 Tuesday games, 6-2 in Paxtons last 8 road starts and 10-4 in Paxtons last 14 starts. The Orioles are 10-27 in their last 37 Tuesday games, 1-11 in their last 12 home games and 0-7 in Gausmans last 7 starts. The Mariners are 1-4 in the last 5 meetings in Baltimore and the over is 6-2 in the last 8 meetings.
The Seattle Mariners have cooled off as of late, but they're still head and shoulders a better team than the Baltimore Orioles, a team that's provided little to no betting value all season long. And while Paxton has had his struggles this season, the Orioles have lost seven straight games in which Gausman has pitched, and he has a 4.50 ERA with an allowed batting average of .273 at home. I'll take the Mariners and the better lineup, a team that wins games. I just can't bring myself to back the Orioles unless I'm getting crazy prices.
