Out at Oriole Park on Sunday, the Tampa Bay Rays and the Baltimore Orioles will be finishing up their weekend MLB series.

In the Friday opener, the Orioles secured a 9-4 win. On Saturday in the doubleheader, the Orioles won the first and the Rays took the second.

For the Sunday game, the Rays will be bringing out lefty Blake Snell in the start. Over 48.2 innings and a 4-2 mark this year, Snell has a 2.40 ERA with 50 Ks and 14 BBs.

Heading into the weekend, the Rays’ top hitter was CJ Cron with 36 hits, 17 runs, seven homers and 21 RBI. On Saturday, Cron had two hits and an RBI in the nightcap.

Over on the Orioles’ side, they’re going with RHP Dylan Bundy. In his 40.2 and 1-5 mark this year, Bunday has a 5.31 ERA with 48 Ks.

Baltimore’s big bat coming into the weekend was the talented Manny Machado with 51 hits, 21 runs, 12 homers and 35 RBI. On Saturday, Machado hit a solo homer.

The Rays are 1-5 in their last six Sunday games and 4-1 in Snell’s last five starts versus a team with a losing record. Tampa is also 6-15 in Snell’s last 21 starts with four days’ rest and the under is 12-4 in their last 16 games.

Meanwhile, the Orioles are 4-1 in their last five during game four of a series and 2-5 in their last seven Sunday games. Baltimore is also 2-8 in their last 10 versus a left-handed starter and 0-6 in their last six versus a starter with a WHIP less than 1.15.

After a minor hiccup in early April, Snell has been cruising along nicely over his last half-dozen starts. In that span, Snell has given up a total of eight earned and a max of two per game. He’s also gone at least six innings in each of his last six. I’m going to stick with the hot hand here and go Rays for the Sunday win.

Tampa Bay Rays -101
