The Line: Baltimore Orioles -118 / Tampa Bay Rays +108 --- Over/Under: 8
The Tampa Bay Rays visit Camden Yards to battle the Baltimore Orioles in AL East action.
The Tampa Bay Rays are in second place in the American League East but they haven’t been playing well as they suffered a 3-0 loss to Seattle Wednesday for loss number five in a row. Starter Chris Archer was untouchable with a two hit shutout with 12 strikeouts over eight innings before Brad Boxberger absorbed the loss with a three run homer served up in the 9th. The offense never got going with four hits and a base on balls with virtually no threats. Nathan Karns opens the series with the Orioles for the second meeting of the season. Karns did not receive a decision in that match up with a two hit shutout over five frames in a 4-2 decision.
After dropping the first game of their doubleheader against the White Sox the Orioles got both their bats and arms going in a 6-3 victory. Starter Mike Wright gave up his first runs of 2015 with three on a pair of long balls through five innings but four relievers held the White Sox scoreless. The Orioles offense broke loose on 13 hits and four walks that saw Travis Snider going 2-5 with an RBI while Adam Jones, Chris Davis and Steve Clevenger drove in runs and scored. Right hander Miguel Gonzales looks to bounce back fro a pair of rough outings when he opposes Tampa Bay Friday. Gonzalez has allowed nine runs on 15 hits and five BB covering eleven innings.
The under is 12-1 in Tampa Bay’s last 13 games as an underdog and is 12-3 in their last 15 road games while going 8-3 in their last 11 on grass. Baltimore are 1-7 in their last 8 Friday games while the under is 12-4 in their last 16 home games and 22-10-1 in the Orioles last 33 Friday games. Gonzalez hasn’t looked good but he is better then he has shown and perhaps he gets a small bet…
