The Line: Toronto Blue Jays -152 / Baltimore Orioles +130 -- Over/Under: 9
The Toronto Blue Jays and Baltimore Orioles meet Thursday in MLB action at Oriole Park at Camden Yards.
The Toronto Blue Jays could use a win after losing 11 of their last 14 games. The Blue Jays have scored 12 runs in their last three games and three or less runs in seven of their last 10 games. The Toronto Blue Jays have lost their last 22 games when scoring three or less runs. Freddy Galvis leads the Blue Jays with 56 hits and 25 RBI while Randal Grichuk and Justin Smoak have combined for 103 hits and 59 RBI. Marcus Stroman gets the ball, and he is 3-8 with a 3.31 ERA and 63 strikeouts this season. Stroman is 4-5 with a 3.52 ERA and 57 strikeouts in his career against the Orioles.
The Baltimore Orioles also need a win after losing eight of their last 12 games. The Orioles have scored 10 runs in their last three games and four or more runs in four of their last eight gams. The Baltimore Orioles have won four of their last five games when scoring four or more runs. Trey Mancini leads the Orioles with 76 hits and 33 RBI while Jonathan Villar and Hanser Alberto have combined for 124 hits and 40 RBI. Gabriel Ynoa gets the ball, and he is 0-2 with a 4.96 ERA and 28 strikeouts this season. This will be Ynoa’s first career game against the Blue Jays.
The Blue Jays are 6-21 in their last 27 Thursday games, 3-13 in their last 16 during game 3 of a series and 4-12 in Stroman's last 16 starts. The Orioles are 17-41 in their last 58 home games, 19-52 in their last 71 during game 3 of a series and 2-5 in Ynoa's last 7 starts. The Blue Jays are 2-6 in the last 8 meetings in Baltimore and 1-4 in the last 5 meetings. The under is 5-0 in Ynoa's last 5 starts overall. The under is 4-1 in Stroman's last 5 road starts.
Stroman has been a bit up and down all season long, but when he's been good, he's been really good, which includes seven starts of one or less earned runs. Ynoa has just three starts under his belt this season and has allowed 18 earned runs and 35 hits in 32.2 innings. Neither of these teams have much going for them right now, so laying juice is always a bit risky, but Stroman has shown flashes of being the ace quality pitcher he was a couple of years ago, and he should have success against this O's lineup. I'll lay the reasonable price with Toronto.
