|Date & Time||Friday June 8, 2018, 7:10 PM (EDT)|
The Line: Boston Red Sox -302 / Chicago White Sox +270 --- Over/Under: 8
The Chicago White Sox and Boston Red Sox meet Friday in MLB action at Fenway Park.
The Chicago White Sox look for a spark of consistency here after splitting their last eight games. The White Sox have allowed 12 runs in their last three games and four or more runs in six of their last 10 games. The Chicago White Sox have lost six straight games when allowing more than three runs. Offensively, Jose Abreu leads the White Sox with 70 hits and 36 RBI while Yolmer Sanchez and Tim Anderson have combined for 113 hits and 52 RBI. Dylan Covey gets the ball, and he is 1-1 with a 2.82 ERA and 21 strikeouts this season. This will be Covey’s first career game against the Red Sox.
The Boston Red Sox look to keep the ball rolling after winning eight of their last 12 games. The Red Sox have scored 15 runs in their last three games and five or more runs in eight of their last 12 games. The Boston Red Sox have won 13 straight games when scoring more than three runs. J.D. Martinez leads the Red Sox with 72 hits and 52 RBI while Andrew Benintendi and Mookie Betts have combined for 135 hits and 81 RBI. Chris Sale gets the ball, and he is 5-3 with a 3.00 ERA and 110 strikeouts this season. This will be Sale’s second career game against the White Sox.
The White Sox are 6-13 in their last 19 vs. American League East, 0-9 in Coveys last 9 road starts and 3-7 in Coveys last 10 starts. The Red Sox are 5-1 in their last 6 during game 1 of a series, 22-8 in their last 30 home games and 6-2 in Sales last 8 starts vs. American League Central. The White Sox are 0-5 in the last 5 meetings in Boston, 0-6 in the last 6 meetings and the under is 4-1 in the last 5 meetings.
Baseball is a wonderful sport where you get to take chances like this to make money in the long term. This price is simply insane. One, you know the Chicago White Sox will be eager to stick it to Sale, like they were last season when they got 10 hits and six runs off him in five innings. Sale isn't in the best of form at the moment, allowing 11 hits and 10 runs in his last 10.1 innings, and he's given up a homer in each of his last six starts. Covey has been solid in 22.1 innings this season, and the White Sox have been able to sprinkle in wins here and there. We're getting almost three times our money in somewhat of a revenge spot. I'll take a shot in the dark with the White Sox on the road.
