The Los Angeles Angels and the Boston Red Sox will meet up on the MLB diamond to continue their series Friday.

In the Thursday opener of this set, the Red Sox blanked the Angels 3-0, riding a two-run second to the victory.

For Friday’s game, the Angels will send out Jaime Barria for the start. Across his 46.2 innings and 4-5 record this year, Barria has a 6.36 ERA with 48 Ks and 16 BBs.

Los Angeles could only put up two hits in the loss Thursday. Mike Trout and Shohei Ohtani each had one knock there.

Over on the Red Sox’ side, they’re going with David Price in the start Friday. Over 105.1 innings and a 7-5 record this year, Price has a 4.36 ERA with 126 Ks and 31 BBs.

The Red Sox’ offense managed five hits on Thursday. JD Martinez was the only player with two hits though, and he also plated a run.

The Angels are 2-9 in their last 11 Friday games and 4-0 in Barria’s last four Friday starts. The under is 11-3 in LA’s last 14 in game two of a series and 25-10-2 in their last 37 Friday games.

Meanwhile, the Red Sox are 5-2 in their last seven Friday games and 7-16 in their last 23 in game two of a series. Boston is 0-5 in Price’s last five starts and 21-8 in his last 29 home starts.

After his Seattle meltdown, Barria has done okay at best in his most recent three starts, going just 1-2. Across that time he’s given up seven earned in 13.2 innings.

As for Price, he’s had some big issues as well, with 20 earned across his last four starts and an 0-3 record in that span. I’m obviously not thrilled about either pitcher here so I’m sticking with the at-home Sox in this one.
