MLB | Tampa Bay Rays (1-6) at Boston Red Sox (6-1)

Out at Fenway Park on Saturday, the Tampa Bay Rays and the Boston Red Sox will be continuing their MLB series.

In the Thursday game of this set, Boston eked out a 3-2 victory in a 12-inning marathon.

For Saturday’s matchup, the Rays will be bringing out RHP Jake Faria. In his first start this year, Faria put up 4.0 innings with four hits and one earned.

Leading the way for the Rays in hitting this year is Matt Duffy with seven hits, four RBI and two runs. Adeiny Hechavarria is second with six hits, two runs and two RBI.

Over on the Red Sox’ side, they’re going with RHP Rick Porcello on Saturday. In his only outing this season, Porcello put up 5.1 innings and one earned in a victory.

Xander Bogaerts is tops on the Red Sox with 11 hits, three RBI and five runs. Hanley Ramirez and Mookie Betts are both second with 18 combined hits, seven RBI and seven runs.

The Rays are 6-13 in their last 19 during game two of a series and 2-10 in their last 12 Saturday games. Tampa is also 6-2 in Faria’s last eight road starts and 1-4 in Faria’s last five starts.

Meanwhile, the Red Sox are 5-0 in the last five Saturday games and 16-6 in the last 22 during game two of a series. Boston is also 7-2 in Porcello’s last nine Saturday starts and 4-1 in Porcello’s last five starts.

This should be a pretty good pitching matchup, as both Faria and Porcello played well in their respective debuts. Still, I expect the Red Sox to pick it up with their offense a bit here and pull away. I’m going with Boston for the win.

Boston Red Sox -180
