The Line: Tampa Bay Rays / Boston Red Sox -- Over/Under:
The Tampa Bay Rays and Boston Red Sox meet Saturday in game two of a MLB doubleheader at Fenway Park.
The Tampa Bay Rays look for a win after splitting their last eight games. The Rays have scored 15 runs in their last three games and four or more runs in seven of their last nine games. The Tampa Bay Rays have won eight of their last 10 games when scoring four or more runs. Avisail Garcia leads the Rays with 62 hits and 28 RBI while Tommy Pham and Austin Meadows have combined for 121 hits and 63 RBI. The Tampa Bay Rays didn’t list a starting pitcher at the time this article was posted.
The Boston Red Sox look for a win after splitting their last 10 games. The Red Sox have scored 16 runs in their last three games and four or more runs in eight of their last 11 games. The Boston Red Sox have won six of their last eight games when scoring four or more runs. Rafael Devers leads the Red Sox with 75 hits and 40 RBI while Xander Bogaerts and Mookie Betts have combined for 135 hits and 70 RBI. The Boston Red Sox didn’t list a starting pitcher at the time this article was posted.
The Rays are 4-1 in their last 5 vs. American League East, 3-8 in their last 11 during game 3 of a series and 1-5 in their last 6 second games of a double-header. The Red Sox are 55-15 in their last 70 during game 3 of a series, 4-11 in their last 15 Saturday games and 4-1 in their last 5 games on grass. The under is 4-0 in the last 4 meetings in Boston. The over is 9-3 in Red Sox last 12 home games. The under is 12-3 in Rays last 15 road games.
It's always tough to predict the outcome of game two without knowing what happens in game one, who is playing, etc. With that said, I'l give the edge to the Red Sox because they're at home and it looks like they're starting to find their groove again with the offense picking up and the wins starting to come more consistently. This is also a much bigger series for the Red Sox if they're going to get back in the AL East and make some noise in the standings overall. I'll give the edge to the Red Sox blindly due to there being a game before this one.
