The Colorado Rockies and the Chicago Cubs will meet up on the MLB diamond for another installment of their series Wednesday.

In the Tuesday game of this set, the Cubs scored runs in four different innings on the way to a 6-3 win.

The Rockies will be sending out German Marquez in the start Wednesday. Over his 85.1 innings and 6-2 record so far, Marquez has a 3.48 ERA with 83 Ks and 17 BBs.

Colorado’s hitters managed six knocks on Tuesday in the loss. The only hitter with more than one was Daniel Murphy on a 2-for-4 line and a solo homer with two RBI.

Over on the Cubs’ side, they’re going with Yu Darvish on Wednesday. Over 61.0 innings and a 2-3 mark so far, Darvish has a 5.02 ERA with 73 Ks and 41 BBs.

Chicago put up eight hits in the win Tuesday. Javier Baez carried the offense with a nice 3-for-4 outing, a two-run homer and a pair of runs.

The Rockies are 6-1 in their last seven Wednesday games and 5-1 in Marquez’s last six starts. Colorado is 8-3 in Marquez’s last 11 Wednesday starts and 9-1 in his last 10 with four days’ rest.

Meanwhile, the Cubs are 6-1 in their last seven Wednesday games and the over is 7-3 in their last 10 in game two of a series. The over is 11-5 in Chicago’s last 16 Wednesday games and 4-0 in Darvish’s last four starts after a quality outing.

Marquez has been solid over his last three starts, with a total of six earned in 21.1 innings. He did give up four earned on seven hits in 6.1 innings versus a bad Baltimore team, but that’s his floor over the last trio.

As for Darvish, He’s got one “sore thumb” start in his last five, with six earned on 12 hits in 7.0 innings, but otherwise has been solid. The bad thing is, Darvish hasn’t gotten a win (or a loss, for that matter) since way back on April 27.

This is a good starters matchup and should be interesting to watch. I’m a little leery of Darvish right now however, so I’m going Rockies.

Pick:
Colorado Rockies +103
