Chicago Cubs -155 / Los Angeles Angels +135
The Los Angeles Angels and the Chicago Cubs will meet up on the MLB diamond Sunday to finish their weekend set.
The Cubs took Friday’s opener in this series 5-1, then on Saturday the Angels evened it up by logging a tight win 6-5.
For the Sunday matchup, the Angels are sending out Trevor Cahill in the start. In his 18.0 innings and 1-1 mark so far, Cahill has a 3.50 ERA with 16 strikeouts and two BBs.
In the Saturday game, LA’s Brian Goodwin provided two hits and two runs, while David Fletcher put up two runs, one hit and one RBI.
Over on the Cubs’ side, they’re going with Tyler Chatwood in the start Sunday. Across 6.0 innings without a decision so far, Chatwood has a 6.00 ERA with six Ks and five walks.
Chicago spread their hitting out pretty well between their bigger hames on Saturday, but couldn’t get it done on the scoreboard. Javier Baez managed three hits and two RBI in the loss, and Jason Heyward added two hits, one RBI and one run.
The Angels are 4-1 in the last five in game three of a series and 6-13 in their last 19 Sunday games. The under is 39-19-6 in LA’s last 64 Sunday games and 4-0-2 in the last six in game three of a series.
Meanwhile, the Cubs are 5-1 in Chatwood’s last six starts and 4-0 in his last four home starts. the over is 4-0 in Chatwood’s last four home starts and 5-1 in his last six starts overall.
After a somewhat bumpy debut this year (6.0 innings; four earned), Cahill has cleaned up with three earned over 12.0 innings in his last two outings.
As for Chatwood, he probably won’t be in the game too long and this will become a bullpen session for the Cubs. With Cahill on the other side, I like the Angels to swipe this one.
