|Date & Time||Friday May 10, 2019, 2:20 PM (EDT)|
Chicago Cubs -128 / Milwaukee Brewers +118
The Milwaukee Brewers and the Chicago Cubs will match up on the MLB diamond Friday to finish their series.
The Brewers are just coming off a set against the Nationals. Milwaukee won all three of those games 5-3, 6-0 and 7-3.
For the Friday game, Milwaukee will be going with Gio Gonzalez in the start. Without managing a decision so far this year, Gonzalez has a 2.61 ERA with nine strikeouts.
Over on the Cubs’ side, they’re sending out Jose Quintana for the start Friday. Quintana is sitting on a 4.1 record with 40 Ks to his name and a 3.40 ERA.
Chicago just finished up against the Marlins this week. Chicago split the first two games of that set, then won 3-2 and 4-1 to take a 3-1 series victory.
The Brewers are 6-0 in their last six overall and 37-16 in their last 53 Friday games. Milwaukee is also 7-2 in Gonzalez’s last nine starts and 0-4 in his last four versus the NL Central.
Meanwhile, the Cubs are 6-1 in their last seven home games and 20-6 in their last 26 overall. Chicago is 5-4 in their las nine Friday games and 7-2 in their last nine in game one of a series.
The Brewers’ rotation had been having some difficulties, so Gio Gonzalez came back in to help things out. In that time, Gonzalez is 2-2 and has gone at least five innings in each outing.
As for Quintana he’s good against Milwaukee usually (6-3, 2.51 ERA over 12 starts) and though he had a bad start April 5 I like him here. I’m going Cubs.
