The Milwaukee Brewers and the Chicago Cubs will finish up their MLB series on Sunday.
Chicago took the first game of this set on Friday 6-2. In the Saturday game, the Cubs kept it going with a 4-1 win.
For Sunday’s matchup, the Brewers will be sending out Adrian Houser for the start. Over 58.2 innings and a 4-4 record this year, Houser has a 3.99 ERA with 60 Ks and 22 BBs.
Milwaukee managed eight hits in the loss Saturday, but couldn’t do much on the scoreboard. Mike Moustakas was the only Brewers player with two hits there.
Over on the Cubs’ side, they’re going with Yu Darvish on Sunday. In his 121.0 innings and 3-5 record so far, Darvish has a 4.46 ERA with 141 Ks and 51 BBs.
Chicago logged nine hits as a team on Saturday. Leading the way was Albert Almora, with a homer, three hits and two RBI.
The Brewers are 8-3 in their last 11 Sunday games and 13-6 in their last 19 in game three of a series. Milwaukee is 1-4 in Houser’s last five starts and 1-4 in his last five on grass.
Meanwhile, the Cubs are 2-5 in Darvish’s last seven starts and 2-5 in his last seven on grass. Chicago is 1-4 in Darvish’s last five starts versus a team with a winning record and the under is 4-1 in their last five in game three of a series.
Houser’s first start coming back out of the pen ended up pretty well. He posted a no-decision on 5.0 innings, three hits and one earned run with six strikeouts.
As for Darvish, he’s been rolling along pretty well, with three quality starts in his last four games. Thing is, the team doesn’t normally give him a ton of support and Darvish doesn’t get a whole lot of decisions either way. Still, I think he’ll set the table well enough here for Chicago to take a win.
