Matt Marton-USA TODAY Sports

Up at Wrigley Field on Saturday, the Minnesota Twins and the Chicago Cubs will be continuing their weekend MLB series.

In the Friday opener, the Twins and Cubs combined for 22 hits on the day as Chicago took a high-flying 10-6 win.

For Saturday’s game, the Twins will be going with Adalberto Mejia. In his 98.0 innings and 4-7 record this year, Mejia has a 4.50 ERA with 85 Ks and 44 BBs.

Leading the way in hitting for the Twins is Eddie Rosario, who came into this set with 94 hits, 54 runs, 17 homers and 50 RBI. On Friday, Rosario had two hits and a run.

Over on the Cubs’ side, Tyler Chatwood will be taking the hill on Saturday. Chatwood has put up 68.1 innings, a 3-5 record, a 3.95 ERA, 64 Ks and 63 walks this year.

Javier Baez is the top hitter for the Cubs on the season with 80 hits, 49 runs, 16 homers and 57 RBI entering this set. In the opener, Baez came up empty in a pinch-hit role.

The Twins are 2-5 in their last seven in game two of a series and 2-5 in Mejia’s last seven starts in game two of a series. Minnesota is 2-5 in Mejia’s last seven starts and 0-4 in his last four Saturday starts.

Meanwhile, the Cubs are 7-2 in their last nine in game two of a series and the over is 7-2 in their last nine Saturday games. Chicago is 39-14 in their last 53 home games versus a left-handed starter and 4-1 in their last five interleague games versus a left-handed starter.

Chatwood has three good starts (four earned total) and one choppy start (four earned in five innings) over his last four appearances. As for Mejia, he had a run of 10 earned in three starts but since has given up three earned over 8.1 innings. I’m not in love with either pitcher here, so I’m going with offensive potential—which is the Cubs. The over might be the way to go, though, if you can find a good-looking number.

Chicago Cubs -148
