Chicago White Sox -130 / Baltimore Orioles +120 O/U: 8.5
The Baltimore Orioles and the Chicago White Sox will meet up on the MLB circuit Monday to kick off their series.
Baltimore just finished up a set versus the Twins this weekend. The O’s lost all three games of that set, dropping 6-1, 9-2 and 4-1. In the Sunday game, Chris Davis provided the only Baltimore run with a solo homer.
In the Monday matchup, the Orioles are going with John Means in the start. In his 20.2 innings and 3-2 record thus far, Means has put up a 1.74 ERA with 23 Ks and six walks.
Over on the Sox’ side, they just came off a weekend series against the Tigers. Chicago managed a 12-11 win on Friday, then after a rainout Saturday the Sox came out of Sunday’s finale with a nice 4-1 win after scoring twice in the first inning and never looking back.
Chicago will be sending out Manny Banuelos in the start Monday. In his 14.1 innings and 1-0 mark this season, Banuelos has a 2.51 ERA with 13 Ks and eight walks.
The Orioles are 6-16 in their last 22 Monday games and 10-43 in their last 53 in game one of a series. The under is 12-4-1 in Baltimore’s last 17 Monday games and the over is 6-2 in their last eight meetings with the White Sox.
Meanwhile, Chicago is 4-1 in their last five in game one of a series and 3-7 in their last 10 versus the AL East. The under is 6-2 in the Sox’ last eight Monday games and the over is 4-1 in their last five in game one of a series.
Looking at Banuelos’ year so far, it’s been really solid; he’s allowed just two earned total, and went 4.0 innings with five hits and no earned in his first start of the year April 22 in Baltimore.
Speaking of Baltimore, they should feel pretty good with Banuelos in the start here. Over his last three appearances, Banuelos has just two earned in 12.0 innings.
This should be a pretty fun matchup pitching-wise, and seems like a good spot to try the Orioles.
