Chicago White Sox -140 / Cleveland Indians +120 O/U: 9
The Cleveland Indians and the Chicago White Sox will meet up on the MLB diamond Sunday to finish up their series.
The White Sox took the first two games of this set 10-4 and 6-1. In the Saturday game three, Cleveland managed to get one 5-2.
For Sunday’s game, the Indians will be sending out Zach Plesac for the start. In his 5.1 innings so far over one start, Plesac has a 1.69 ERA with two Ks and one walk.
The Indians put up seven hits and a pair of errors on Saturday. The lone hitter with more than one knock was Carlos Santana, who went 2-for-4 with a solo homer.
Over on the White Sox’ side, they’re going with Lucas Giolito on Sunday. In his 60.0 innings and 7-1 record this year, Giolito has a 2.85 ERA with 69 Ks and 20 BBs.
Chicago could muster just four hits in the Saturday loss, and also notched two errors. Eloy Jimenez had half the team’s hits with a 2-for-4 afternoon.
The Indians are 43-21 in their last 64 in game four of a series and 2-5 in their last seven Sunday games. Cleveland is 3-7 in their last 10 versus a starter with a WHIP less than 1.15 and the under is 7-1 in their last eight in game four of a series.
Meanwhile, the Sox are 4-9 in their last 13 Sunday games and 6-0 in Giolito’s last six starts. Chicago is 7-2 in Giolito’s last nine Sunday starts and 4-0 in his last four with four days’ rest.
Well, we’ve got just the one start to gauge Plesac from, but he pitched well in an intimidating matchup against the Red Sox at Fenway and allowed just four hits.
As for Giolito, he’s got three quality starts in his last four games and has allowed just four earned across that span (with a complete-game shutout in there).
This should be a fun pitching matchup, but so long as the Sox can give him a little cushion I like Giolito here. I’ll go Chicago.
