Kamil Krzaczynski-USA TODAY Sports

The Houston Astros and Chicago White Sox meet Sunday in MLB action at Guaranteed Rate Field.

The Houston Astros look for another victory to build on their five-game winning streak. The Astros have scored 20 runs in this series and four or more runs in six of their last eight games. The Houston Astros are 14-2 this season when scoring more than one run. Jose Altuve leads the Astros with 28 hits and eight RBI while Carlos Correa and George Springer have combined for 45 hits and 34 RBI. Lance McCullers Jr. gets the ball, and he is 2-1 with a 5.57 ERA and 34 strikeouts this season. McCullers is 0-1 with a 3.18 ERA and 14 strikeouts in his career against the White Sox.

The Chicago White Sox could use a victory here that would snap a six-game losing streak. The White Sox have allowed 32 runs in their last three games and 10 or more runs in each of their last four games. The Chicago White Sox have lost 10 straight games when allowing more than one run. Offensively, Jose Abreu leads the White Sox with 19 hits and nine RBI while Tim Anderson and Yolmer Sanchez have combined for 30 hits and 14 RBI. Reynaldo Lopez gets the ball, and he is 0-2 with a 1.42 ERA and 21 strikeouts this season. This will be Lopez’s first career game against the Astros.

The Astros are 5-2 in their last 7 during game 3 of a series, 5-0 in their last 5 road games and 10-2 in McCullers Jr.s last 12 starts with 4 days of rest. The White Sox are 8-3 in their last 11 during game 3 of a series, 1-7 in their last 8 home games and 0-5 in their last 5 vs. American League West. The Astros are 2-4 in the last 6 meetings in Chicago and the under is 5-2 in the last 7 meetings.

The Chicago White Sox have allowed 10 or more runs in each of their last four games, and they're going up against argubaly the deepest and most talented offense in baseball. I love my underdogs, but it's hard to make a case for the White Sox in their current form. McCullers is also coming off his best performance of the season in which he allowed just one run and one hit in seven innings against the Seattle Mariners. Give me the Astros for the sweep, and I'll take the run line to increase the value of the wager.

Houston Astros -1.5
