The Line: Chicago White Sox -190 / Minnesota Twins +180 --- Over/Under: 7.5
The Chicago White Sox battle the Minnesota Twins at U.S. Cellular Field in Saturday action.
The Minnesota Twins are hanging tough in a very competitive American League Central with wins in four of six before blowing a 2-0 lead in a 3-2 defeat to the White Sox. The dangerous offense was silent which squandered a strong performance on the mound from Phil Hughes. Hughes gave up two runs on eight hits over seven frames for a no decision with Aaron Thompson allowing a run to take the loss. The bats totaled three hits and walked once with Joe Mauer and Trevor Plouffe knocking in runs. Minnesota is hoping for another quality outing when May toes the rubber versus the White Sox. May picked up a 6-4 win against Tampa Bay with three runs plated on seven hits over 6.2 innings.
The Chicago White Sox were the hottest team in the American League Central but had dropped three in a row heading in to Fridays American League Central bout with Minnesota. Great pitching carried the White Sox to a much needed win with Jeff Samardzija allowing both runs on three hits while striking out nine in eight innings to up his record to 4-2. Chicago posted nine hits and a pair of bases on balls with Geovany Soto leading the way with a 2-4 night with two RBI’s while JB Shuck knocked in one. Left hander Chris Sale goes for win number three in a row when he opposes Minnesota for the third time in 2015. Sale has given up a combined three runs on six hits over a pair of eight inning stints.
The over is 7-2 in Minnesota’s last 9 Saturday games while the Twins are 7-3 in their last 10 road games and the over is 9-4 in their last 13 overall. The under is 12-3-1 in Chicago’s last 16 home games and the over is 10-2 in the last 12 meetings in Chicago while the over is 11-4 in the last 15 meetings. Minnesota is very dangerous but Sale is more then capable of winning this…
