The New York Yankees and the Chicago White Sox will meet up to continue their MLB series on Saturday.

In the Thursday opener of this set, the Sox eked out a 5-4 win. On Friday, the Sox kept it going in glorious fashion with a dominant 10-2 win.

For the Saturday game, the Yankees will be sending out Chad Green for the start. Green is 1-2 with an 8.27 ERA and 24 Ks this year.

New York came up with six hits on Friday, but their slim 1-0 lead evaporated very quickly. Clint Frazier and Luke Voit each notched two hits for the Yanks there, and Voit homered.

Over on the Sox’ side, they’re going with Reynaldo Lopez on Saturday. In his 75.1 innings and 4-6 record this year, Lopez has a 6.21 ERA with 72 Ks and 34 BBs.

Chicago’s offense was working overtime Friday, bashing 16 hits against the Yanks pitchers. The Sox’ biggest contributor was Eloy Jimenez, with two homers, six RBI and three runs among his trio of hits.

The Yankees are 10-3 in their last 13 in game three of a series and 38-15 in their last 53 Saturday games. The over is 18-5 in New York’s last 23 in game three of a series and 9-3-1 in their last 13 versus a starter with a WHIP greater than 1.30.

Meanwhile, the Sox are 2-5 in Lopez’s last seven starts versus the AL East and 5-2 in the last seven in game three of a series. Chicago is 3-8 in their last 11 Saturday games and 5-13 in Lopez’s last 18 versus a team with a winning record.

Lopez has been pretty sketchy lately. During a span of three starts in May and early June, he coughed up 19 earned runs on 24 hits in just 13.1 innings. The good news is that Lopez had a nice outing in KC his last time up, taking a win on 6.0 innings, four hits and one earned.

On paper (even with all the injuries), the Yankees should win this game. That said, New York hasn’t been able to put everything together lately and they’re far from a sure thing. Still, I think I have enough confidence left to take the Yanks in a game they SHOULD win here, but with Green on the mound I don’t know. Stay away.
