Colorado Rockies (16-25) at Cincinnati Reds (18-25)
|Date & Time||Monday May 25, 2015, 1:10 PM (EDT)|
The Line: Cincinnati Reds -128 / Colorado Rockies +118 --- Over/Under: 8
The Cincinnati Reds hope to right the ship when the Colorado Rockies visit Great American Ball Park.
The Colorado Rockies haven’t done well in the early going and are playing around .500 baseball over the past few weeks and that isn’t good enough to compete in the National League West. The Rockies have won back to back contests after an 11-2 rout of San Francisco on Sunday behind great hitting and pitching. Chad Bettis allowed both runs on six hits over 8.1 innings to win his first game. The Rockies pounded out eleven hits and walked three times with Nolan Arenado going 4-5 with a homer and four RBI’s and three runs while Troy Tulowitzki and Nick Hundley driving in two runs apiece. Eddie Butler is scheduled to start game one of their series at Great American Ball Park. Butler is coming off of a 4-2 loss to Philadelphia with all four runs allowed (two earned) on six hits and two BB over three frames.
The Cincinnati Reds are going nowhere fast and that’s a bad thing with St Louis in the National League Central. The Reds continued to struggle in a 5-2 defeat at Cleveland on Sunday. Rasiel Iglesias got the start in place of Johnny Cueto and didn’t last long wit two runs allowed in three innings with JJ Hoover charged with a pair of unearned runs. The offense did very little on a six hit attack with Marlon Byrd going deep with Brayan Pena knocking in Jay Bruce. Veteran Jason Marquis looks to avoid his third consecutive defeat when he faces Colorado. In the losses Marquis gave up a combined 15 runs on 21 hits covering 12.1 innings of work.
Colorado are 15-51 in their last 66 road games and are 5-14 in their last 19 Monday games while going 9-23 in their last 32 overall. Cincinnati are 0-8 in their last 8 overall and are 0-8 in their last 8 games on grass while going 3-8 in their last 11 Monday games. The over hits when these teams get together and that’s what I’m looking at but there are better games out there…
