Cincinnati Reds -149 / Colorado Rockies +139 O/U: 10.5
The Colorado Rockies and the Cincinnati Reds will meet up on the MLB circuit Sunday to close out their series.
In the Friday opener, the Rockies powered out a 12-2 win. On Saturday, the Reds put up all three of their runs in the first three innings and held on for a 3-1 victory.
For the Sunday game, the Rockies will be sending out Peter Lambert in the start. Across his 41.0 innings and 2-2 mark so far, Lambert has a 5.93 ERA with 31 Ks and eight walks.
Colorado could only find five hits in the Saturday loss, and no batter had more than one. Nolan Arenado put up the lone Rockies RBI and Trevor Story had a run.
Over on the Reds’ side, they’re going with Sonny Gray on Sunday. Over 109.1 innings and a 5-6 record this year, Gray has a 3.29 ERA with 127 Ks and 28 BBs.
Cincinnati put up six hits in the Saturday victory. None was more important than Eugenio Suarez’s two-run homer in the third inning, his 28th of the year.
The Rockies are 2-5 in their last seven Sunday games and 0-6 in Lambert’s last six starts. Colorado is 0-6 in Lambert’s last six starts on grass and the over is 4-1-1 in their last six Sunday games.
Meanwhile, the Reds are 17-36 in their last 53 Sunday games and 5-1 in Gray’s last six home starts. Cincinnati is 9-3 in Gray’s last 12 starts on grass and 9-3 in his last 12 overall.
Lambert has been okay but not great over his last three games, posting nine earned in a total of 16.1 innings. Thing is, he’s 0-2 during that time and hasn’t gotten a win since June 11.
As for Gray, he’s cruising pretty well right now with five straight quality starts. I like him to stay rolling and help Cincinnati get a finale win here.
