Cleveland Indians -150 / Baltimore Orioles +140 O/U: 9
The Baltimore Orioles and the Cleveland Indians will meet up to continue their MLB series on Saturday.
In the Thursday opener of this set, the Indians took a 14-7 win. On Friday, Baltimore banged out a 5-1 victory.
For the Saturday game, the Orioles will be sending out John Means in the start. In his 38.2 innings and 5-3 mark so far, Means has a 2.33 ERA with 33 Ks and 10 BBs.
Baltimore out-hit the Indians 10-3 on Friday, with their offense coming alive. Everyone in the starting lineup managed a hit except for Richie Martin in the nine spot, going 0-4.
Over on the Indians’ side, they’re going with Adam Plutko on Saturday. This will be Plutko’s first appearance of the 2019 season, and he managed a 5.28 ERA in 17 games last season.
Cleveland could put up just three hits on Friday. Francisco Lindor and Jason Kipnis combined to go 2-7 with a walk and two strikeouts.
The Orioles are 19-45 in their last 64 in game three of a series and 12-39 in their last 51 Saturday games. The under is 5-1 in Baltimore’s last six in game three of a series and 5-0 in Means’ last five starts overall.
Meanwhile, the Indians are 2-5 in Plutko’s last seven starts and the under is 4-0 in his last four home starts. Cleveland is 2-5 in Plutko’s last seven starts on grass and the under is 6-1 in his last seven overall.
Means has been good over his last pair (and really most of the year), and in those two he has seven hits with two earned in 13.0 innings combined—and two quality starts.
As for Plutko, he’ll be replacing Cody Anderson in the Indians’ rotation and just needs to put together a few good innings here before handing off.
I think the Orioles have the upper hand here and this is a good shot for them to get a win.
