The Boston Red Sox and the Cleveland Indians will meet up on the MLB circuit to kick off their series on Monday.

Boston is coming out of a series versus the Angels. The Sox took the first two games 3-0 and 16-4 before falling 12-4 on Saturday. In the Sunday game, Boston fell 5-4 in 10 innings.

For the Monday game, Boston will send out Eduardo Rodriguez to start. Rodriguez is 13-5 with a 4.17 ERA and 140 Ks this season.

Over on the Indians’ side, they’re fresh off a weekend series versus the Twins. Cleveland won the first two games in that set but fell 4-1 Saturday. On Sunday, the Indians bagged a 10-innings win 7-3.

For Monday’s opener, the Indians will roll out Zach Plesac for the start. Over his 72.0 innings and 6-3 record this year, Plesac has a 3.12 ERA with 54 Ks and 27 BBs.

The Red Sox are 12-4 in their last 16 in game one of a series and 19-7 in their last 26 Monday games. The over is 4-0 in Boston’s last four Monday games and 38-17-2 in their last 57 in game one of a series.

Meanwhile, the Indians are 6-2 in their last eight in game one of a series and 5-0 in Plesac’s last five home starts. Cleveland is 6-0 in Plesac’s last six starts overall and 5-0 in his last five with four days’ rest.

Plesac has been rolling along pretty well across his last four games. In that stretch, he’s 3-0 with three quality starts—the one outlier was 5.0 innings with four earned against the Astros, and still a win. Combined over those four Plesac has given up six earned in 24.0 innings. This probably isn’t a bad spot to take the Indians.
