Cleveland Indians -179 / Chicago White Sox +169 O/U: 8.5
The Chicago White Sox and the Cleveland Indians will continue their MLB series on Wednesday.
In the Monday game, the White Sox pulled off a 9-1 victory. On Tuesday, Chicago kept it going with a 2-0 win.
For the Wednesday matchup, the White Sox will be sending out Reynaldo Lopez for the start. In his 36.1 innings and 2-4 mark so far this year, Lopez has a 6.69 ERA with 45 Ks and 20 BBs.
The Sox pulled off eight hits in the Tuesday victory. James McCann had a nice outing with two hits and an RBI, while Ryan Cordell put up a pair of hits as well.
Over on the Indians’ side, they’re going with Shane Bieber on Wednesday. Across 37.0 innings and a 2-1 record this season, Bieber has a 3.16 ERA with 42 Ks and 12 walks.
The Indians managed five hits in their loss Tuesday, and those hits were shared by just two players. Francisco Lindor logged three of them, and Jason Kipnis had the other two.
The White Sox are 1-4 in their last five in game three of a series and 1-4 in their last five Wednesday games. Chicago is 1-4 in Lopez’s last five Wednesday starts and 5-11 in his last 16 road starts.
Meanwhile, the Indians are 20-7 in their last 27 Wednesday games and 1-4 in their last five in game three of a series. Cleveland is 10-4 in Bieber’s last 14 starts and 7-2 in his last nine starts with four days’ rest.
Lopez had a nice string of three starts going, allowing just three earned runs over 18.0 innings. That said, in his other four starts this year Lopez has coughed up 24 earned runs.
As for Bieber, he’s really only had one misfire this year (five earned in 2.1 innings versus the Braves) and otherwise is looking good. I’m going Indians all the way here, despite the two straight losses in this set.
