The Line: Cleveland Indians -208 / Kansas City Royals +193 --- Over/Under: 9
Out at Progressive Field on Saturday, the Kansas City Royals and the Cleveland Indians will be picking up their MLB series once again.
In the Friday game, we had a wild one. Cleveland scored six times in the fourth inning but the Royals stormed back for a tense 10-9 win.
For Saturday’s matchup, the Royals will be going with Jakob Junis in the start. Over his 45.1 innings and 4-2 record this year, Junis has a 3.18 ERA with 38 Ks and nine walks.
Coming into this set, the Royals’ top hitter was Mike Moustakas, with 43 hits, 24 runs, 10 homers and 28 RBI. On Friday, Moustakas had three hits, an RBI and a run.
As for the Indians, they’re rolling with Mike Clevinger on Saturday. In his 45.2 innings and 2-0 mark this season, Clevinger has a 2.76 ERA with 39 Ks and 14 BBs.
Coming into this series, Cleveland’s Francisco Lindor led the team on 45 hits, 28 runs, 10 homers and 22 RBI. In the opener, Lindor had a hit and a run.
The Royals are 1-4 in their last five Saturday games and 8-0 in Junis’ last eight starts in game two of a series. KC is also 4-1 in Junis’ last five road starts and 6-2 in his last eight starts.
Meanwhile, the Indians are 20-8 in their last 28 during game two of a series and 9-4 in their last 13 Saturday games. Cleveland is also 6-0 in Clevinger’s last six Saturday starts and 7-3 in his last 10 home starts.
Junis had a rough outing versus the White Sox but since has put up four earned on 15 hits over 13.0 innings in his last pair. As for Clevinger, he’s given up five earned on eight hits in his last two starts, a span of 14.0 innings. This should be a fun pitching matchup, but I’m leaning toward the Indians here.
